Wow. Wow wow wow. This is a beautiful mix of heartbreaking and funny. Riley and Harper are in difficult phases of life. Riley having recently gone blind and learning to live without his sight. Harper having just fled an abusive relationship with very little to his name. These two are what the other one didn’t know they needed. Harper provides the soft support for Riley to feel independent again. Riley injects joy into all the dark corners of Harper’s mind. Truly a sweet pair.

All kinds of hurt-comfort goodness. Bi-awaking. A little angst, mostly due to the characters doing some character growth.

I really enjoyed the writing style. I can’t put my finger on what it is exactly that I like so much, but here are a couple quotes I highlighted:

He’s got nothing left to lose, and I’ve got everything to lose that I have left.

That poor dog is going to be as confused as he is ugly.

Now we’re two horrible dancers dancing together instead of alone.

How have I fallen for a straight man who’s a gay Don Juan? Whatever liquid he wants me to be, I’m a puddle on the floor. 

I loved both of these characters. Their banter was a joy to read. This is my first book by this author and I will definitely read more.
